If you are unsure of how to be prepared when visiting a tailor, it is important to remember these helpful tips.
When adjusting your wardrobe, consider the following to ensure a proper fit for your garment…
Dresses & gowns
When wearing a dress, make sure the bust & shoulders fit as close as possible.
The hip area should fit accordingly to your size or bigger: It’s better to take in fabric on sides than to let out, but we can do both.
If you have a dress that’s too long, we can easily shorten it. However if you are looking to extend a dress, our seamstress can adjust a hem with fabric or trim in order to lengthen.
Always wear shoes that you’re planning to wear with the garment, especially with a floor length gown.
Jackets
When wearing a jacket, consider the following notes for a proper fit.
The chest area & shoulders should fit close to perfect.
We can alter the rest. From taking in the center back seam or shortening or lengthening sleeves, we can transform your jacket and make it look custom made.
PANTS
Pants should fit well in the hips, waist & length can be easily adjusted.
For shortening hems on jeans, we can offer original hem to re-attach the washout look at the bottom.
Pants can also be lengthened if there is enough seam allowance inside. Our tailors can work with a variety of pants from sequin trousers to silk culottes.
SHIRTS, Blouses & Tops
When wearing a top, make sure the front & armhole are a good fit.
Our tailors can release or take in side seams accordingly to your size.
We can also shorten the hem or sleeves of your favorite blouses to be worn with your favorite skirt or trousers.
Shopping at a store
When buying clothes at store, it is helpful to try clothes on with the undergarments & shoes that you plan to wear with outfit.
Wear a shirt if trying on jackets.
Buy one size up if your size is not available. We can adjust the item to your size afterwards.

Our tailors would recommend to buy from brands you already know when it comes to sizes.
Review size chart for each garment.
Know your measurements.
Pick from two sizes: If your size is not available, Buy one size up.
